About this artist

Frank Weitzman revels in the outdoors. Spending time fishing, sailing, and hiking, as well as painting, he is always aware of the subtle changes in light, atmosphere and color, which he brings to his paintings. He works around New England, on location to absorb the scene in his studies, and the final painting is then completed in his studio. Frank attended the High School of Art & Design, The School of Visual Arts, and The New School where he studied graphic design, packaging design, illustration and photography. After an extended trip to Europe in 1973 he decided to relocate to Colorado to be closer to nature and the outdoor activities he enjoys. He continued to do freelance design and more time became available to explore his passion for painting, drawing and printmaking. His favorite subjects include Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.
