Mossant is a serigraph of an advertisement for the French hat company by the same name illustrated by Leonetto Cappiello in 1938. The popular hat company was founded in the 19th century, but it didn’t gain notoriety in the US until the 1920s.
Cappiello helped lead the Art Deco movement and is considered the “father of the modern poster” because he created advertisements that were also collectible pieces of art.
This piece is not framed, however, we have included images of what it might look like in a simple, contemporary, black frame.
