About this artist

Born in 1960 in New Mexico, Dennis Smith Carney  graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in 1985. He worked in advertising in Texas before pursuing his career as a full-time artist in Arizona. The abstract work of Dennis Smith spans color and style, as he melds styles of expressionism. With singular lines, and clouds of colors, Smith transports the viewer of his large-scale oil on canvas paintings. Melding old and new, classical and modern, Smith’s work evolves constantly and is uniquely inspired by the artistic masters and architecture of the past.
