About this artist

Gary Shepard began his professional art career in the early 1970’s as a watercolorist. After much success, he expanded his talents, deciding to venture into oil painting as a new way to express himself. He has become one of New England’s most collected living artists. Gary started painting at the age of twenty and has been painting professionally for over twenty-nine years. The clarity and precision of all his wonderful paintings began with a drawing course at the Washington School of Art, which established his foundation for painting. Shepard exhibits his paintings in galleries throughout the United States, but is based primarily in New England. He has exhibited in many shows and has received numerous awards. Born in 1951 in Lowell, MA, Gary Shepard is a native of New England and has resided in New Hampshire since 1975.
