About Primo Re:
Primo Re was born in 1930 in Venice, Italy. He studied at the Brera Academy in Milan after his family moved there from Venice. The city of Venice remained Primo Re’s main source of inspiration as a subject for his work, despite his having moved away from it as a child. He is described as a master of light and shadows and his works are said to be full of spirit and poetry. He has exhibited at the Biennale di Reggio Emilia and the Modern Art Exhibition in Turin. His work has earned him awards such as the Marzotto Prize and the Cignaroli Prize.
