Rona Oberman, also known as Ponie O is a tremendously talented and creative artist, with a long and unusual career. In the early 1990’s as a graduate student at the Pratt School of Design, she began experimenting with 3 dimensional cutout artwork, which was a new medium being developed by the likes of James Rizzi and others. Her humorous and cleverly insightful artwork captured the subtle behavioral idiosyncrasies of popular-culture. After two years of successfully exhibiting her work in galleries in the NYC, Providence, & Boston areas, Rona decided to focus exclusively on her professional career as a creative director in the advertising industry. Having received her masters in Communication Arts, and with a keen eye for observing human behavior, she spent 30 years working for well known firms. During this time, she put her fine art career on hold. However, in 2018 she decided to resurrect her art career, to the delight of many.
