About Peter Kitchell:
Peter Kitchell was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1950 but moved to California with his family when he was five years old. Both of his parents were architects and started Kitchell’s art training at a very young age. From 1967 – 1968, Kitchell attended the Art Institute of San Francisco to study printmaking. From 1968 – 1969, he attended the College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA. He then spent 1969 – 1971 touring the museums of Europe and Africa as well as time in Japan later on in his career. Kitchell has worked in many mediums including drawing, painting (watercolor predominantly), sculpture and photography. He also had a brief career designing and building furniture during the 70’s. Since the early 1970’s Kitchell has participated in dozens of one-man shows and group exhibitions throughout the U.S. He now works out of his own studio in New England.
