About Hoi Lebadang:
Hoi Lebadang (1921-2015) was born in Vietnam and emigrated to France as a teenager. He fought in the French Resistance movement against the Nazis, but was arrested and sent to a prison camp. After He was freed, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Lebadang is best known for his densely textured mixed-media paintings of molded pasteboard, limestone, and pigment on burlap or canvas surfaces. He works in abstraction and his representational work contains images of mostly horses and nature.
