About Karen Dupré:
Karen Dupré is a self-taught artist from L.A. County, California. Dupré was first interested in translating animals & wildlife into drawings from an initial interest in horses. She first worked with pastels at the age of nine & further developed her work with different mediums & subjects, like still-lifes, landscapes, & figures. However, Dupré always kept her interest in depicting wildlife. Her initial artistic influences include Frederic Remington, Gustav Klimt, & Auguste Renoir, all of which are from the 19th-century. This is mainly due to her strive to expand the color & composition in her style & to not limit herself with conventional artistic standards. Karen Dupré’s work conveys a sense of harmony between her gentle brushstrokes & lighting in both nature & man-made objects.
