About Charles Eaton
Charles H. Eaton was born in 1857 and died in 1937. He is known for his paintings of landscapes with a particular interest in Eastern White Pine trees. He grew up in Albany, New York and was a figure in the Tonalism painting movement. Tonalism is described as a work that contains of colored atmosphere (such as greys, browns, and blues) or mist, often emphasizing mood and shadow. It came into popularity in America directly after the popularity of the Hudson River School movement.
