About André Bourrié

André Bourrié was born in France in 1936. He was abandoned by his parents at a young age and sent to an orphanage, where he turned to nature for comfort. He became interested in color, light, form, and texture and taught himself how to implement them in his craft. As an adolescent, Bourrié worked as a ceramicist before a philanthropist saw his potential and paid for his schooling in fine arts. He worked in the art field for over 40 years before retiring from his day to day job and focused more on his paintings.

Bourrié is known for his distinctive land and seascapes and has received numerous accolades and awards for his work. You can find his pieces in exhibitions and permanent collections all over the world. He still works and lives in France.
