Born in Germany in 1937, Peter Max moved to New York with his family in the 1950’s. After Training at the Art Students League he opened his own art and graphic design studio in Manhattan, developing his iconic brightly colored “comic” style that makes his work so recognizable. Throughout the next 2 decades, Peter Max became one of the most prolific commercial artists, doing commissions and imagery for numerous corporations, museums, and international events.
