Aldo Luongo is known for his landscapes as well as his figurative paintings. A true impressionist, he is a master at capturing color and light. He also as an amazing ability to convey a sense of movement and emotion in his images.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 31, 1941, to Italian parents, Luongo’s goal was to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a professional soccer player. This ambition having been realized, was short lived due to an injury.
Fortunately, at the age of 14 Luongo had entered The Academy Of Fine Arts and subsequently received his degree. Luongo began to paint professionally at the age of 27 while on a trip to Italy, creating 30 originals later displayed in his first one-man show in Los Angeles.
His influences are “Monet for his pastels, Toulouse-Lautrec for his drawing technique combined with the strength of Van Gogh, would be my idea of the perfect Luongo.” Luongo’s paintings are a unique blend of the sensual with the cerebral, thus they appeal to a broad audience.
