Kevin Kusiolek Oil Paintings: Price Range: Kevin Kusiolek’s cityscape paintings offer a fresh take on the urban environment. Rather than paint the more commonly rendered views, the artist chooses unique perspectives, compositions, and color palettes in order to capture the soul of the city. Working in a modern impressionistic style, Kevin’s dramatic lighting conveys a moody, slightly gritty aspect that veers away from the idealistic and shifts the focus toward more of a raw realism.
Kusiolek attended Towson University in Maryland in 2010 where he earned a BA in fine art and design. He has had numerous exhibitions and won several awards for his work. From the Artist: ‘I consider my paintings as visual diaries which are influenced by places that I’ve lived or traveled to. As far as my paintings being void of people, my intent is to capture a particular moment that I find interesting and although people inhabit these spaces, they are not necessarily my focus. People are rarely static, especially in urban environments, so to paint them that way would take away from the energy I try to evoke in my work. My overall intent when creating a work of art is to capture a personal experience and put it onto a canvas with hopes that I capture everything that I felt on that particular day.’
