The Yacht (22×30 hand-signed & numbered etching on paper)

Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1940, Frank Kaczmarek was a self-taught artist who was influenced to paint & draw at an early age due to his father being a fashion designer. Kaczmarek primarily focuses on nautical scenes & landscapes in various media including silkscreens, etchings, & watercolors, with a specific emphasis & techniques used with the ladder. The prints, once etched onto a copper plate, goes into an acid bath where the etching lines are bit away & etching ink would be applied in it’s place. The plate that holds the etching is placed in a press with a damp rag paper placed on top of it, making the ink embossed into the paper when rolled. Once the edition is printed, Frank Kaczmarek hand colors each print. His etchings are found in many collections across Canada, the United States, Japan, & in regions of Europe, with a permanent exhibition at Kane Graphics in Boston.
