About this artist

James Gurney’s creative artwork creates a dream world that sparks the imagination in children and adults alike. Gurney graduated from the University of CA at Berkley with a degree in anthropology, and then studied at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design. He became involved in the commercial art industry and created over 70 paintings for book covers and illustrated ancient worlds for National Geographic Magazine. He then spent the majority of his time creating a whimsical, fantasy world called Dinotopia through a series of prints, posters and a book. His intense knowledge of dinosaurs and their ecological surroundings is clearly depicted in his meticulous and accurate renditons. See below for a list of titles we have in stock.
