First Try by Jerry Garcia is a hand and plate signed and numbered limited edition etching. This print includes a 4 inch white mat and a 1 inch black frame. It depicts Jerry’s artistic interpretation of  his own initials “JG”. There were only a handfull of these etchings which were signed before he died.

Jerry Garcia was most well known as the singer/guitarist for the Grateful Dead. However he was a talented visual artist as well. He completed a series of limited edition prints that showcased his talent and versatility. In subject ranging from wild, colorful abstracts to surreal images of dragons, he displayed his sense of humor as well as his artistic ability. Garcia would sign his prints as they were sold. Consequently, at the time of his death, there was no stockpile of signed pieces. For that reason, his hand-signed artwork is highly collectible.
