About :
Erte (aka Romain de Tirtoff) is considered to be the father of the Art Deco movement. He was born in Saint Petersburg in Russia, and later moved to Paris. His work varies greatly; from jewelry to costumes to sculpture to paintings, he was a prolific maker of art.

Erte Serigraphs and Sculpture Art Deco was was one of the most important design movements of the Twentieth Century, and Erte (Romain de Tirtoff), was considered to be its father. The artist influenced a broad range of design for more than 85 years. Erte also worked with Harper’s Bazaar, providing the magazine with its monthly covers, as well as dress, shoe, jewelry and interior designs. In the 1920s, he designed for the Folies Bergere and the Paris Opera, and also for the Ziegfeld Follies and Irving Berlin’s Music Box Revue in America. We have an excellent collection of his serigraphs, sculptures, and jewelry in our gallery. All artwork is available for sale.
