About this artist

Growing up Jane Cooper was surrounded by art and developed an inherent passion for the painterly process from her mother and aunt. Cooper’s childhood was spent in Michigan. She was a BFA graduate of Denison University. She lived and worked in New York as a professional stage manager on Broadway for ten years and moved to Westchester where she returned to study painting and color. Cooper’s landscapes are immensely deep and sprawling, with fields that lead the eye far into the distance. The bright, cheerful palette and soft handling of brushwork gives these landscapes a peaceful feeling that the viewer can delve into.
