About this artist

Simon Combes was born in Shaftsbury, England in 1940. At the age of 6, his family moved to Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. In his late teens, Combes was drafted into the Kenya regiment. During his freetime in the northern desert, Simon began to draw and paint the local nomadic people and landscape in which they lived.
