Additional Information:
Celata draws her inspiration from an early memory of her childhood where she spent an afternoon playing and seeing the sunlight fall upon a quilt that her great grandmother had made. “As I traced the designs, I marveled how the patterns and colors twisted around each other in harmony. The joy I felt that day is what I try to recapture each time I paint.” Celate is primarily self-taught, with the majority of her art education coming from working in galleries and frame shops. For over 20 years she has worked alongside dozens of artists of all ages and abilities, having countless discussions about technique, composition, materials, color and style. Many of the pieces of art we work on are the origin of these discussions. Currently living in Massachusetts with the support of her husband and two daughters, Celata says she tries to paint every day. Her paintings range from intimate still-lifes, to traditional landscapes, to sculptural abstracts. They can be found in private collections through out the United States.
