It is with fondness that Alexander Yelagin re-creates images of his childhood, focusing on the solitude that he still enjoys, and capturing the rugged beauty of the landscape.
At first glance, many of his landscapes look austere, with their run-down cabins, abandoned mining cabins, and rusty tools. But a closer look usually reveals tiny elements of color, or signs of life that are intended suggest a more uplifting message.
