Martine Trouis was born in 1959 in St Maixent l'Ecole, France, and grew up in Avignon.
Working in Asuncion, Paraguay as a computer analyst, Martine took notice of the abundant artists and exhibitions around her. She felt a passion for abstract art and began painting while in South America.
Martine's earlier works consisted of geometric compositions but have since evolved into more abstract pieces. Her color palette remains muted and understated, allowing a bolder emphasis on fewer colors. The balance of darkness and lightness is also prominent, evoking a sense of adventure.
Several galleries in France have held solo exhibitions of Martine's work and her artwork is now showing in the United States as well.
