About this artist

Janis Sanders is an accomplished, award winning artist who paints the coast of New England from the remote dunes of outer Cape Cod to the rugged cliffs of Maine.

Sanders has always been inspired by the natural world, and uses his palette knife and brush as the outlet to explore this love of the outdoors. He paints with energy and spontaneity, often working "en plein air" as a means of infusing the sights and smells and sounds of his surroundings into the composition. The resulting works, with their bright, smooth color blocks evoke a sense of warmth and serenity along with a touch of mystery and intrigue.

His works have been exhibited in prestigious collections both in the United States & internationally along with having his own galleries in New England & Sante Fe.
