About this artist

Originally from Maine, Holly Lombardo is inspired by the rugged coast and magnificent forests of her home state.  Holly's paintings evoke a sense of immediate cheer with their bright colors and bold imagery illuminating the canvas. Although she is primarily a self-taught painter, she taken workshops & has studied with several area artists.
Apart from being an accomplished painter, she has also worked as a math and science teacher and a research scientist in the biotechnology industry. Indeed the artist takes a scientific approach to her work, researching techniques and continuously refining her style.
Her painting style lends itself to her subjects. Holly's work is a blend of modern and impressionistic styles, which loose brush strokes and layers of color. Painting, she says, "... is not only a means of creative expression for me, but also a way to share the colors and textures of nature that I have always loved." Other artists you may like: Jeff Koehn
