Michael Leu creates with an extraordinary sense of composition and color, with subjects including abstracts, cats, women, and landscapes. His spontaneous yet well-executed works invoke senses of well-being, a smile, a chuckle, or a delightful moment of enhanced comprehension of our surroundings. His work is similar in style to that of Picasso, Matisse and other early Modern impressionistic and Fauvist artists.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Leu gained recognition as a young artist. He studied fine art and design in Taipei in the late 60’s and developed his printmaking technique at Otis Parsons in Los Angeles, California in the early 80’s.
