Xiao Song Jiang is a Chinese artist who paints beautiful landscapes of northern New England as well as sun drenched harbor scenes. The impressionistic style is accompanied by a pallete knife technique to produce rich textured oil paintings that are bright and filled with sunlight. His compositions are never stiff, and always seem to have a "natural feel". For an excellent quality and unique New England landscape you must see this artist's work.
Growing up in the 1970's in China, Song Jiang worked in a factory in the industrial city of Wuhan. With no money to purchase supplies Song taught himself to paint by sketching on used pieces of cardboard.
Eventually, as the Chinese society began to open he was eventually accepted into China Academy of Art, where he earned a degree and eventually began teaching.
After being chosen by the Chinese government for several exhibitions, Song was invited to an exhibition of his artwork in Canada, where he still lives with his wife and son.
