About this artist

Hermanos grew up as a member of an artistic family in New York City. Motivated by her lifelong love of color, Hermanos paints in layers. She reworks surfaces to create complexity and depth. Language and psychology influence her process. Hermanos relates her intuitive choice of colors to a therapist asking pertinent questions. Her work as an artist attributes language and organization to past experiences. She creates clarity through movement and blurred lines---with the ever-evolving nature of a painting mirroring the human psychological condition. Hermanos studied fine art at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Venice, Italy and Massachusetts College of Art. She also has education in art history and social work. Her work has appeared in television and in motion pictures. Her solo exhibitions include local businesses and galleries around Massachusetts and New York City. Hermanos' work has been included in group exhibitions and installations everywhere from New Orleans to Connecticut since 2005.
