About the Artist

Born in 1939 in Fez, Morocco, Amram Ebgi is an Israeli/American printmaker, painter and sculptor. He immigrated from Morocco to Israel early in life. He went to New York City at the age of 30 under a scholarship of the Brooklyn Museum of Art and studied printmaking at the Pratt Institute. Ebgi has been bringing the deeply symbolic and beloved images of his rich Jewish Heritage to life using intricate detail and bright colors. He has works permanently displayed in the Museum Collections of Yale, Princeton and UCLA and has been commissioned by UNICEF.
