Lea Avizedek was born in Jerusalem and currently lives and works in Tel Aviv. She received her formal art training at Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem and the school of drawing in Tel Aviv. Her work primarily centers on the female form and is distinguishable by its bright, heavy-bodied color with light pencil sketches.

Her work primarily centers on the female form and is distinguishable by its bright, heavy-bodied color with light pencil sketches.
Her talent was recognized at an early age. The simple sketches that she drew were compared to the works of post-impressionist Toulouse Lautrec, with their simplicity of few lines and bold and colorful silhouettes.
“I try to project women as warm, loving human beings. I don’t care if the women I paint look ugly, if their legs are fat or their socks are half off, ... When I work it’s emotional. My life enters on my art."
