Growing up in southern California, Michael McGovern spent summers on the family farm in Ohio. His passion for the rural American landscape and small towns grew from those early years. Michael has lived in New England for over 20 years now, and has been painting and exhibiting successfully in that time. As a master of realistic illusion he displays his technical virtuosity throughout his beautiful renderings of the land around him. He uses rich colors and an uncanny sense of detail to portray the unique landscapes that he finds in New England.
