Title: Another Missed Tiddler! (serigraph/paper 33x28)

Peter Heard’s paintings are highly detailed and intricate compositions, usually depicting English villages or eccentric portraits of sportsmen and women. He often observes some of these everyday people and places with humor and graphic wit. He uses pure, bright colors to accentuate the whimsical quality of his works.

As a former civil engineer, Heard incorporates many of ideals of his previous career into his artwork. The structure and composition of his pieces clearly reflect a certain sense of graphic organization.

Peter Heard's early exhibitions were in London with artists Beryl Cook and Martin Leman. Together, they are known for initiating the British school of modern naïve art. Today, more than 30 years later, the humor and workmanship in his pieces can still be detected and appreciated.
